It provides an introduction to the curriculum that we teach and also details the

programmes of study per subject and year group.

Primary National Curriculum

Our Curriculum Plans are updated at the beginning of each new term.

At Hurst, we introduce sounds using Jolly Phonics but follow the Letters and Sounds Documentation to teach phonics.

For learning to read the children in F2 and KS1 read banded (levelled books) and move up following a successful benchmarking assessment.
