“Cherish the natural world because you’re a part of it and you depend on it.” – David Attenborough
Welcome to Hurst Primary School's Geography curriculum page. At Hurst Primary, we believe that geography is a key subject for understanding the interconnectedness of our planet and the diverse cultures and environments that inhabit it.
Our geography curriculum goes beyond simply learning about countries and capitals; it is about exploring the natural world, human societies, and the interactions between them.
Through hands-on activities, field trips, and digital resources, pupils develop spatial awareness, critical thinking skills, and global citizenship values.
We are committed to teaching a curriculum that reflects the rich diversity of landscapes, peoples, and cultures across the globe, fostering empathy and understanding among our pupils.
Please find below the subject vision, whole school long-term plan, concept road map and an example of a medium-term plan.
