SEN Events Past and Present
Bexley Voice Parent Information Workshop (4 February 2020):
All parents were invited to attend an information event run by Bexley Voice. This is a charitable organisation run by parents of children with additional needs and disabilities. They offer a support service for parents and carers within Bexley and can signpost to local services as well as provide a wealth of information regarding local services and further support. Click here for the PowerPoint presentation used at the workshop.
Parental/Carer Wellbeing Workshop: All parents/carers were invited to the recent workshop, presented by Laura Burke, from Mind Bexley. She presented lots of useful information about how important it is to look after our own wellbeing as well as offering suggestions and strategies to support. A number of leaflets are available from the session and can be found in the reception area. We also hope to run another workshop in the new year.
ASD Parent/Carer Coffee Mornings: Parents of children with ASD/ social communication difficulties are invited to attend to meet other parents with children that have similar difficulties. The ASD advisory team attend too, so you can ask questions and talk through particular issues or concerns you may have about your child.
Speech & Language Information Meetings: Parents of children receiving speech and language support are invited to attend to find out more about speech and language provision for their child/children in school. Practical support and advice is also given.
If you are interested in attending future parent/carer events, please email our SENCO Mrs Hudson email@example.com
