Previously set work

Year 5 have put together a home/school learning pack that we would like your child to complete during the period of school closure. It consists of 10 lessons of maths (arithmetic and reasoning) and 10 lessons of English (SPAG, reading comprehension and short writing tasks). We expect home-reading to continue regularly and recorded in the reading record.

Maths

Go to school’s website http://www.hurst.bexley.sch.uk/ -> Our Learning -> Year 5 & 6 maths revision. Every question that your child will complete has a corresponding YouTube link on the website that explains how to do the question (should they require help). You child should complete the first two pages of each unit. Password: hexagon 6.

English

See separate instructions for English work.

Our Summer Term topic is ‘Tudors’. We would like your child to collect and gather materials to create a Tudor room using a shoe box at school. Eg patterned material, cardboard boxes, yoghurt cartons, lolly sticks as well as a shoe box.

Please ensure that all completed work is returned on the first day back at school. If your child is eager to complete addition work, there are many websites that can help with learning times-tables and practice of calculation skills.

Best wishes
